Bystander

The Gallery at Leica Store San Francisco is excited to announce its upcoming exhibition, Bystander, which opens June 4th to coincide with Streetfoto Festival 2018. The exhibition, inspired by the landmark street photography book, Bystander: A History of Street Photography by curator Colin Westerbeck and photographer Joel Meyerowitz, examines the genre of street photography through the eyes of nearly fifty photographers. The exhibition will comprise early iconic prints alongside recent work by artists who are actively photographing on the streets today in San Francisco and abroad.

Bystander presents photographs by the following artists: Devin Allen, Richard Bram, Carrie Boretz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Maciej Dakowicz, Elliott Erwitt, Misha Erwitt, Donna Ferrato, Jason Francisco, Lee Friedlander, Ingeborg Gerdes, Dave Glass, Charles Harbutt, Travis Jensen, William Klein, Graciela Magnoni, Joel Meyerowitz, Melissa O’Shaughnessy, Gus Powell, Ted Pushinsky, Eli Reed, Richard Sandler, Jamel Shabazz, Louis Stettner, Matt Stuart, Andres Vargas, Rebecca Norris Webb, Alex Webb, and Garry Winogrand.
